Welcome to New Hope Missionary Baptist Church

Pastor Mitchell Turner has faithfully served in ministry for over 30 years and currently leads our congregation at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He holds a BS in Theology from the Tennessee School of Religion Seminary, Master of Theology from the Tennessee School of Religion and a Doctoral in Ministry from Agape Seminary and is passionate about discipleship and biblical literacy.

Some of his strengths are care and concern of his ministry and his assignment to him are never taken lightly. Management and administration, training, counseling, teaching and mentoring are role in general pastoral duties. Support and oversight of staff with focus on Personal Development.

Before coming to New Hope MBC, Pastor Turner served as Pastor of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Greenfield, TN from Oct. 2010 until being Called to New Hope in December, 2023. Pastor Turner is also currently serving as the Chief of Police in Ripley, TN since March of 2019.

Pastor Turner is a graduate of Haywood High School in Brownsville, TN C/O 84. He has 7 wonderful children(Jessica, Candace, Anyshia, Mitchell Jr., Brittany, Tevyn, and Nyjah).

In his free time, he enjoys watching sports. Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia 76ers and love spending time with family and friends.

Pastor Turner has a great Focus on his relationship with the Lord, New Hope Community, and a Personal Journey to seek the lost. As he continues to be an obedient servant of God.

His sermons focus on the transformative power of God's Word and its practical application to modern life.
